ich bin ein berliner

Travelling with only hand luggage means packing light, so I can bring enough goodies back home with me. This usually means bringing a few basics and only one pair of shoes. Unfortunately I didn't see any shoes I wanted to bring back home with me this time. The sandals you see me wearing in some of my Berlin pictures were only a necessity: I felt like my feet were going to melt at one point. But no, not going to complain. I had a blast! I'm so glad I got to experience a little bit of summer in one of the best cities in the world. I'm back home again, cocooning with a blanket on the couch where I can hear the rain ticking on my window. No need to tell you I miss wearing this summery ensemble.

berlin, ich liebe dich

I'm back again! I had a wonderful time in Berlin. It's been a very sunny and warm couple of days. This was our third time visiting the city, so we decided to take it slow. We were happy to find out that there's still loads of new things to discover about the city. I love to show you the charm of Berlin and since you guys requested to see some pics -and lucky you, I took loads of them-, I'm going to divide them over a couple of posts. Looking back on it I even wish I took more pictures, because now I don't have any documentation of some things, like that cool cocktailbar/B-movie cinema, the street trumpeter who kept on repeating a horrible version of the Star Wars theme or the best Mexican place ever with übercheap yummy cocktails and pumpkin burritos.
I did one proper outfit shoot, the rest will just be me showing you how awesome this city is! If you love a free and creative atmosphere like I do, this is definitely a city worth visiting.

We stayed at the Easy Hotel at Haekescher Markt, which I definitely recommend. It's in the middle of Mitte, one of Berlin's coolest neighbourhoods with plenty of shops and cafés around to satisfy your needs. Plus, major bonus, the rates are pretty low.

Let me know in the comment section if you want to know any recommendations. In that case I'll put them in my next post and you can bookmark them for any future visits!

So yeah, loads of pics after the jump!

holiday mood

As you can see we're back to gray & grainy weather again. This doesn't put me in a bad mood at all, since I have something to look forward to! I'll be going to Berlin in a few days. Not only that, I'm also visiting the Night + Day festival curated by my Favourite Band Evarrrrrrr: The XX. So, yay! Jump for joy! Again!
This will be the third time for me visiting the city, but I'd love to know about nice restaurants, shops or cool things to do, so if you have any tips for cool places to visit in Berlin, please let me know in the comment section!

On another note, I'll be working full-time starting next week, so it might be possible that I'm not updating frequently. Soz in advance!

#instaglamour

My best friend told me about this Instagram contest from Glamour magazine. The editor-in-chief picks the best outfit of the month and all you have to do to enter is use the hashtag #instaglamour. The best of all best outfits gets to style a shoot in Glamour magazine. Of course that's something I'd love to do. And so it happened that I was hashtagging away with every outfit picture I posted on Instagram. You can imagine my excitement when I received an email about this outfit saying that it had been picked as best outfit of the month March. This alone is awesome, but fingers crossed that I win the competition!

The text next to my picture reads something along the lines of:
Where do you find inspiration? Movies, magazines, video clips, people on the street... I'm a massive user of Lookbook.nu, Pinterest and Instagram. Above all I love to watch pictures of visitors of the international fashion weeks. That's where you'll find the most inspiring and daring outfits.

If you'd like to see it in real life, this (Dutch) edition of Glamour magazine is in stores now!
